Brit pack Beaders 1st challenge... the designs

My apologies, I am officially tardy! This week has been non stop and there still is no stop! Friday is my Smitten Beads Open House, I'm in a complete muddle and only have 2 days to go so wish me luck! As a result I am late posting, late finishing & have no words prepared! So, I will be adding all the nitty gritty of the design process next week. But here without further ramble are my 2 finished pieces and 2 more works in progress. I hope you like. I'm now off for a quick peak at my fellow Brit pack beaders designs. Then back to tidying, pricing and generally running around like a headless chicken until I drop!

I will just quickly add a big thank you to Lesley for the idea and the other BPB for such a great challenge I can't remember the last time I enjoyed doing something quite so much!

  3. Hi Claire,
Wow your pieces are amazing I love the bracelet and the earrings. I'm not sure what is in the third photo but it is gorgeous. Is it the start of a necklace?
This is the first time I have visited your blog and I am now a follower. Looking forward to the next Brit Pack Beaders challenge.

    1. Hi Therese,
Thank you for your lovely comments, Yes the 3rd piece is a necklace and actually the original design, I wanted to incorporate some crochet on the left side but have to wait for my all knitting all crocheting Mum to give me some quick lessons as I have forgotten how! I am hoping to post a written piece for each design next week plus my original 6.30am sketches! as each piece has evolved quite a bit.
      Best wishes, Claire

  4. I can't wait to see your necklace Claire. I love the metalwork on the earrings, I love the little seashell pearly bead, I love it all in fact! It's so different from anything I've seen of yours before,

    1. Hi Bo, I'm in the calm before todays storm so time for a quick reply.

      Thank you! I think that's because I have no I identity! ;0)

Most of the stuff I have been publishing on Facebook and in my newsletters is over 2 years old and generally much more commercial as I had the shop then. My evil ME has stopped me being creative for so long! I have only just got back into designing and have to say that all you BPB's have inspired me!

  5. Your pieces all turned out so lovely and textural. I think that first piece really captures the inspiration photo. . .if I'm understanding the challenge right from Rebecca's page. In any case, you created some really wonderful pieces!!

  6. Beautiful weaving in the bracelet, Claire. It is so amazing how different everyone's designs have turned out. I was wistful on reading that you can still call upon your dear Mum for one-on-one; enjoy that, my dear! I have only memories of my Mum's needlework prowess. Though she had a very rudimentary formal education, her knowledge of knitting, crochet, weaving, sewing, embroidery, etc., etc., was encyclopaedic. It is getting harder these days to find such human treasures!
